Hamill's Happenings

This week was a bit different at PES, due to stormy weather and Easter holidays. Our first grade Egg Hunt was rained out, so students in Mrs. Hamill’s class spent time crafting and creating instead.  Each child was given a paper plate to decorate and then create an Easter basket for eggs.  They worked hard on these and were so proud of their creations!  Also, students, who earned the bi-monthly behavior reward, were supposed to get to plant flowers Thursday. Students did a plant unit and read non-fiction texts about the structures and functions of plants/flowers.  However, again the weather did not cooperate so this will be done next week.  They were excited to see the bright yellow marigolds though and hope to see some bees pollinating them at recess sometime.  So far this semester, students with good behavior have earned an ice cream party, a paint party, and a plant party.  They can’t wait to find out what the next behavior reward party will be. . .
