Mrs. Homan's second grade class had a Place Value Party with several activities for the students to participate in. They popped balloons with place value questions inside. The students played Pin the Bow on the Clown where they had to choose the bow tie with the answer that matched the place value clues that were read. They made numbers out of graham crackers (hundreds), pretzels sticks (tens) and skittles (ones). The students made "cakes" out of paper base ten manipulatives. They learned a lot and had fun!
