The students in Mrs. Homan's class were very busy during their Place Value Party. They popped balloons with place value questions inside.
They played pin the bow tie on the clown. During this game, the students had to choose the bow tie with the answer that matched the math place value clues that were read. With their eyes closed they stuck the bow tie to the clown to see who got closest to the neck.
The students made numbers out of graham crackers (hundreds), pretzel sticks (tens) and skittles (ones). Then they made "cakes" out of paper base ten manipulatives.
